Just over forty five years ago Cinquanti Real Estate opened its doors in a two-room office at 22 1/2 Main Street over Fiorentini Jewelers. It was 1968 when Bill Cinquanti ventured out on his own after gaining his honest, hardworking reputation selling homes for The Preston-Jones Agency in Homer.
Shortly after opening, Cinquanti was joined by his wife Laura who would soon become a Broker in her own right and fourteen years later, take over the company. In 1980, their son Steve joined the company and in 1995 he took over as Principal Broker. All three Cinquanti’s played significant roles in the growth and evolution of the Cortland County Board of Realtors. Each served as a Board President (Laura being the first woman), each were honored as "Realtor of the Year," and each played major roles in the establishment and evolution of the Multiple Listing Service as we know it today.
The years have brought many changes to the Real Estate industry and the Cinquanti organization drives hard to keep on top of the regulatory changes in a very competitive environment. Always striving to stay on the leading edge of technology, the firm has teamed up with the Nothnagle Company as a franchisee to bring in tools and technology not yet seen in this market including automated Weekly Reports, analytical tools and the exclusive 24/7 “4-Sale Line”.
The group stays connected with the community by serving the Cortland Regional Medical Center, County government, the United Way, youth organizations, Rotary, and Loaves and Fishes to name a few. Activities like the annual Mitten Drive, Drawing Contests, School to Work programs, and funding sports and recreation programs keep them in touch with the community's youth.
Maintaining the tradition forged by his parents, Cinquanti works hard to continue the honest, hard working reputation. The more things change the more they stay the same!
